Sweet Night Light

Yesterday Erica posted a bit about her life-saving Ikea night light, and it reminded me I hadn’t written about our night light purchase recently.  A few weeks ago, Brandon and I went to the Renegade Craft Fair here in San Francisco.  We were strolling around the packed venue (also trying to navigate a stroller–didn’t think that one through) and eventually we stumbled upon this very sweet night light by Owly Shadow Puppets (also a seller on Etsy).  Our standard procedure for the craft fair is make an entire loop (no purchases first time around) and then go back to things that got your interest.  I almost broke the rule with this night light, but I waited and sure enough at the end we still really loved it and went back for it.  To clarify, yes, the “Love You” swivels (when it’s in the box it looks like it’d be perpendicular to the wall when plugged in, instead of parallel).  It is light sensitive, so it turns on and off all on its own.

Eleanor doesn’t fully appreciate a night light yet, but it’s a life saver for Brandon and I when we need to go into her room in the middle of the night. I love, however, the sweet message it will send her when she’s old enough to understand.  Night lights oftentimes are instituted to help kids who might be afraid of the dark, and what better reassurance than to have a night light that proclaims a message of love?  My hope is that Eleanor will remember every time she sees that light how much her parents love her.

The night light also comes in pink, dinosaur not included.  You can purchase either color here for $24.00 + shipping.
